Agar Records is an independent record label based in Los Angeles, California. We are a coalition of artists devoted to the simple philosophy of personal growth through uncensored self-expression. We believe this freedom of expression is our most valuable instrument in the evolution of society and culture, and in individual fulfillment.    "Agar" is a polysaccharide found in certain species of red algae. It serves as a strong structural support for the cell walls in these thriving marine organisms. Agar is harvested and used for a variety of purposes, most notably in microbiology as a potent medium for growth.
